How to Identify your Target Market

Here are some simple questions to determine who you’re looking for:
- Male or female
- Age range
- Level of education
- Marital status
- Why do they want what you offer
- Occupation/Job Title
Once you’ve come up with the answers the next thing you need to do is determine where they hang out. All the social media platforms have their demographics readily available online.
If you’re targeting women with a household income of over $75,000 you’d be more likely to use Facebook advertising. 77% have that kind of income.
If you’re a contractor or remodeler working on high-end homes Houzz is the place to be because the average household income there is >$125,000 and 45% of their subscribers have an income of over $150,000.
If your company is Business-to-Business a LinkedIn campaign using Sales Navigator (LinkedIn’s Premium Service) is the way to go. LinkedIn is also a great way to reach out to strategic partners to develop relationships.
