8 Reasons to Revamp Your Website
If you’ve been wondering if it’s time to revamp your website here are eight red flags to tell you it’s time.
1. You’ve been adding to it for years and it needs to be reorganized.
We’ve all been there – whether it’s adding new items to your kitchen or to your website – eventually things get overcrowded and unorganized and need your attention. A streamlined navigation will make the user experience much easier and you’ll get more people to read your content.
2. You need a more professional look.
Is your website built on one of those free or low-quality templates? Those are fine for startups so the business can have a presence but once it gets off the ground you need a professional-looking site so potential customers will know you’re serious about being in business.
3. You need a foundation for your social media campaign(s).
You’ve got great connections and interaction on your social media channels and then you put up a link to bring them back to your website. And there’s a broken link or they can’t find the article or page they’re looking for. Or the branding doesn’t match. You wouldn’t want to confuse a potential customer, would you?
4. It’s not mobile-friendly and it’s not seamless across all devices.
Nobody wants to pinch and resize your website to find what they’re looking for. And even worse, if your website isn’t mobile-friendly it won’t come up on a search on a mobile device. You’re losing out on potential business. Sixty percent of searches are now done on mobile devices. There’s your ROI right there.
5. Your business goals and/or strategy have changed since the last one was built.
All businesses evolve. Strategies change, target markets change. Make sure you’re reaching the right demographics.
6. Some components are out-of-date and no longer work.
Imagine if someone came to your website and the contact form didn’t work. Day after day. Week after week. Or perhaps your Google Analytics is disconnected and you have no idea how well your website is performing. How much business could you be losing?
7. It’s so S-L-O-W.
Nobody wants to sit and wait more than a couple seconds for a web page to load. If yours takes longer than that realize that they are leaving and going elsewhere.
8. The content is outdated.
There’s nothing worse than finding out-of-date products or events that have already happened on someone’s website. It makes you wonder – if they don’t pay attention to their website – what do they pay attention to?
