Out with the old, in with the new
Sometimes things change with the times, other times they stay the same.
I know, a bit confusing, huh? I want to tell you about The Doolittle Home in Foxborough MA. It is a retirement home in a very Victorian setting and the residents just love living there. It’s a small 30 resident home where the staff stays a long time and they know everyone by name. And by coffee cup. It’s nice to see you get to bring your own and they’ll have it on the dining table for you so it feels like home.
The Doolittle Home’s last website was done about eight years ago and sorely needed updating. Plus, parts of it were picked up from the previous version and it was getting to the point where things were starting to fail. That made the upgrade even more important. One of their biggest concerns was the amount of time needed to dedicate to this project. Instead of the usual 3 month turnaround I suggested 6 months and that was what Linda Hunter, Executive Director, needed to hear.
After a few visits to the Doolittle-Home it was clear the focus of the new site needed to be heart-centered. You can see how happy both the residents and staff are after being there just a few minutes. We brought in photographer Steve Mason to capture the Victorian feel of the home and the energy and enjoyment of the residents during their meals and recreation time. Hopefully we’ll be back in the good weather to capture the beautiful gardens outside and the residents enjoying them.
Here’s what the new site looks like. Definitely heart-warming. So much so that the first day it went live Linda got a phone call from a prospective new resident. I hope the visit goes well Linda!
