Need help getting your blogs to rank well?
I’ve been using Yoast SEO plug-in for all my WordPress sites for years and I have to tell you that I think it’s a great tool!
Yoast SEO uses a traffic light analogy to tell you how you’re doing. It analyzes your content and decides whether it deserves a green, yellow or red light. When you get a green light you know you’ve done a good job. If you get a red or yellow light it offers tips on how to improve the results.
It’s broken down into two tabs: content and SEO analysis.
The content tab looks for readability and checks for:
• Sentence and paragraph length
• Whether you have subheads and where they are
• How your content ranks on the Fleisch Reading Ease test so it’s considered easy to read. A difficult to read blog will result in a high bounce rate.
If you have all the above covered you should be able to attain the coveted ‘green light’.
SEO Analysis tab
The SEO analysis tab is the second tab. After you key in the focus keyword of the post it checks keyword density and looks for the word/phrase in the:
• title of the post
• content of the article
• meta description
• alt tag of the images
Each analysis will give you suggestions on how to improve your post based on its color-coded ranking system and they’re so easy to understand and follow. You can choose whether these suggestions are right for you or not. One of my self-declared non-techie clients found this very easy to use to improve the rank of her blogs.
